Requirements
Must have:
5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and running production GenAI/LLM applications used by real users.
Strong Python skills with experience writing production-grade, tested, and maintainable code.
Strong hands-on experience with RAG, including embeddings, vector databases, retrieval strategies, reranking, evaluation, and quality optimization.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Vertex AI/Gemini, BigQuery, Cloud Run/Functions, Pub/Sub, and IAM.
Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, or Google ADK.
Experience with AI agents, tool/function calling, and API integrations.
Solid production engineering skills, including containers, CI/CD, Terraform, logging, monitoring, and LLMOps/MLOps.
Strong understanding of LLM evaluation, including evaluation datasets, regression testing, quality tracking, and model/prompt upgrades.
Good awareness of data privacy and AI security, ideally including GDPR.
Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to work independently with international and remote stakeholders.
Nice to have:
Experience as the first or sole AI Engineer in an organization.
Experience with dbt, SQL/data modelling, lakehouse architectures, Looker/LookML, or MCP.
Experience with fine-tuning, model distillation, or small-model deployment.
Frontend skills such as React, Next.js, or Streamlit.
Knowledge of the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, or similar AI governance frameworks.
Experience in FMCG, retail, e-commerce, healthcare, or medical devices.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate production-grade GenAI/LLM solutions, including conversational assistants, RAG systems, document automation, AI agents, and internal copilots.
Own the end-to-end RAG stack, including chunking, embeddings, vector search, reranking, prompt design, grounding, citations, evaluation, and quality improvement.
Build document and workflow automation to extract, classify, validate, and integrate structured data into platforms such as BigQuery, DataHub, and other business systems.
Develop AI agents and tool/function-calling integrations with internal and external systems via APIs, MCP, and similar integration patterns.
Take full production ownership of AI solutions, including CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, incident handling, cost/latency optimization, and documentation.
Implement AI governance and data protection practices, including GDPR compliance, privacy-by-design, access controls, auditability, and safeguards against hallucination, prompt injection, and data leakage.
Work closely with the AI Core Team, Data & AI Strategy Lead, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to identify use cases, evaluate whether AI is the right solution, and deliver measurable business value.
Establish reusable AI patterns, architecture, and engineering standards to support the future growth of the AI capability and team.
